These deliciously refreshing margaritas are a beautiful shade of red. They have a perfect balance of flavors, and you can whip up a pitcher in no time. They're popular even with those who (used to say) that they don't like margaritas.
Easy Frozen Strawberry Margaritas Print Recipe
Makes about 7 (8 oz.) servings
Ingredients:
Crushed ice
5 oz. tequila
2 oz. triple sec
1 (23.2 oz.) carton of frozen strawberries in sugar, slightly thawed enough to scoop out of carton
1 (6 oz.) can frozen limeade concentrate
2 oz. simple syrup, or to taste (recipe follows)
Fill your blender* half way with ice. (You can use ice cubes if your blender will crush them; I used purchased crushed ice). Blend until ice is fairly uniform and smooth. Add tequila and triple sec. Blend just to combine. Add the strawberries and limeade. Blend until smooth. Add simple syrup to taste. Garnish with fresh strawberries if desired.
*I used a 56 oz. (7 cup) capacity blender.
Simple Syrup Print Recipe
Makes about 1 and 1/4 cups of syrup1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Simple syrup is, well, simple to make. Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan . Over medium heat, stir until mixture comes to a low boil and sugar has dissolved. Stir and boil for about 30 seconds. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Store in the refrigerator in a tightly closed container (I use a canning jar). Keeps very well for several months. A richer, sweeter syrup can be made with 2 cups of sugar and 1 cup of water. Directions to make it are the same, but you would use less of this syrup in your drinks since it is sweeter. (You can also make flavored simple syrups, such as my Meyer Lemon Simple Syrup or Clementine Simple Syrup)
