I had seen some projects using tea candles, but I wanted something that would burn a little longer than that. I already had these votive candles and holders, so I decided to use them.

ReplyDeleteLooks like we are the only two that made it through the ice to the Sweet Tea Social today. I just love your centerpiece, I had actually showed to my husband last night and make a craft day plan with him to have a look alike. Hope you are having a cozy weekend and thanks for sharing!
Miz Helen
Miz Helen, I was secretly glad that no one else made it....I didn’t want to share that beautiful cobbler you brought....hehehe! ;)
DeleteHow very lovely! I love the natural rustic look. Thanks for sharing at Home for the Holidays Link Party.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susan, and thanks for hosting Home for the Holidays! :)
DeleteJoy it is just beautiful! I love that you used votive candles instead of tea lights -- I really like them better but I have to tell you I laughed when I tried to imagine recruiting Grampy to help me with his tools! LOL!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Grampy wouldn't be too excited about that, I guess! :) Thank you for your sweet comment! :)
DeleteThis is beautiful! I have seen similar ones in expensive gift catalogs. I love the way you can change the seasons on yours, and it sure cost you a lot less to make a lovely centerpiece!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joyce! Yes, the log in the back yard was pretty much free....and most of the effort was expended by my husband. :) I got the fun part of dressing it up. Thank you for coming by- I appreciate your sweet comment!
DeleteAh this is so pretty ...I remember my grandparents had something like this for decorations. My grandma went into the natural sort of stuff in a big way, using logs, branches, berries, driftwood, pine and so forth...I really like this :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Deb, I like the rustic, natural look, too. :) The red berries were off of a huge monster holly "bush" (tree!) in the side yard. I wish I had thought to add a few pine cones. :)
DeleteBeautiful, Joy! Really lovely!
ReplyDeleteAmber, thank you! I really enjoyed this project and was happy with the way it turned out. Thanks for your sweet comment!
DeleteThis is absolutely gorgeous…what a great idea to use what's in our backyard! Reminds me of how simple life was when I was a child. We always used our resources and came up with beautiful projects. Love also that you used votive cups instead of tea light….they do burn quickly.
ReplyDeleteKay, thank you! I do love scouting around to use found objects, or things I already have on hand. Have you ever made a popcorn or cranberry garland? If you have, please send me any pointers you might have- every year I say I'm going to make one! :)
DeleteNot only are you a fabulous cook, you have an eye for decorating! LOVE the natural elements are brought indoors, and that splash of RED sets it off just right ;-)
ReplyDeleteJoAnn, thank you so much- I get so excited about these outdoorsy rustic things- I'm glad you liked it, too! It was fun to put together and decorate. :)
DeleteThis is a really great idea and the best part is it can be used in several seasons! I love it (might have to get my other half working on something like this!)
ReplyDelete-Pam
