Fast n Easy Reversible Baby Blanket

I love to make baby blankets- it's so much fun to customize everything about them, from the colors, to the size, to the the materials used. Here's a fast, easy way to make them, and you can even make burp cloths out of the scraps.

Owl Zipper Bag

I found a tutorial for a pencil case at Crazy Little Projects, and fell for it immediately. I added a couple of my own touches, and I love how it turned out.

This boxy little zipper bag would make a great pencil case, makeup bag or storage for sewing supplies.

You'll need about 1/4 yard of outer fabric, and about 1/4 yard of lining. Or a fat quarter of each each would work well. You'll need a 9" zipper.

Cut two 9.5" X 5.5" pieces of outer fabric and two of the same size lining fabric. I ironed some medium weight interfacing onto my outer panels so that the case would have a little structure to it. Assemble according to Amber's tutorial. The only thing I added was to finish my inside seams with zigzag stitching to prevent any raveling. Oh, and a little owl charm. I added that, too! :)

I made one for my daughter (who is using it for her crochet hooks), and made another to put in my shop. Make one for yourself, or if you don't have time, here are some of the ones I have available:
