This delicious pizza sauce is brought to you by Red Star Yeast, and I am happy to give you my honest opinion about it.
Yesterday, I sent you a recipe for gluten free pizza, and this is the flavorful sauce I used on it. Thick, rich, with a perfect balance of herbs and parmesan, it will remind you of your very favorite Italian restaurant.
This sauce would be excellent on pasta or as dipping sauce for breadsticks, too. It goes together quickly, and the flavor is worth the extra few seconds it takes.
Pizzeria Style Pizza Sauce
- ¼ tsp Oregano¼ tsp Basil
- ¼ tsp Black Pepper
- ⅛ tsp Garlic Powder
- ⅛ tsp Onion Powder (I used 1/4 teaspoon dried minced onion)
- 2 teaspoons Parmesan Cheese
- ½ tsp Salt (optional; taste before adding)
- 1 can (10.75 oz.) can tomato puree
pinch sugar (optional)
Mix all ingredients together. Spread on pizza dough as desired. Makes enough sauce for two 12-inch pizzas.
Please see the original recipe on Red Star Yeast for more tips and additional pizza topping ideas.
